Power loss & autorotation

Hover failure = cushion to a level touchdown; altitude failure = autorotation; OEI is multiengine-only.
Minimize time in the HV avoid region; always know your spot.

Aerodynamic hazards

VRS: powered + sink >300 fpm + below ETL → forward cyclic/Vuichard; prevent by keeping airspeed up.
Low RPM: collective down + throttle. Dynamic rollover: collective down. Low-G (SFAR 73): immediately gentle aft cyclic to restore positive G before any lateral cyclic; avoid abrupt forward cyclic/pushovers. LTE: pedal + airspeed.

Malfunctions & IIMC

Diagnose by cross-check, apply POH, land precautionarily if airworthiness/control affected; carry route-appropriate survival gear.
Inadvertent IMC: keep control on instruments, climb for terrain, turn to VMC, get help; recover unusual attitudes smoothly (no abrupt cyclic).
