Preflight & flight deck

POH walk-around every time; focus on blades, control hardware, drive system, fuel, tail rotor.
Secure loose items, set up EFB/avionics, brief seatbelts/doors/sterile cockpit and rotor safety.

Start, engage, run-up

Clear area & call clear; start per POH; engage clutch smoothly with RPM rising together.
Run-up: gauges green, governor holding, hydraulics (if fitted), controls free; resolve any abnormal before lift-off.
